Example Bakery

At Example Bakery, every bake starts in a small Chicago kitchen with slow, intentional care and a serious respect for good ingredients. From crackly-crusted sourdough loaves and long-fermented focaccia to soft rolls, cookies, and seasonal small-batch treats, each item is made from scratch in limited quantities so it actually feels special when you snag a spot on the pre-order list. Using simple, high-quality ingredients and long fermentation, the focus is on flavor, texture, and that cozy “fresh out of the oven” feeling you usually only get at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Example Bakery.

Do you offer delivery or is it pickup only?

I currently offer local pickup by appointment; limited delivery within 5 miles may be available for an additional fee.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept credit/debit cards, Zelle/Venmo, and cash for local orders; full payment is due at booking to secure your date.

Do you accommodate allergies or special dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, etc.)?

I can offer some allergy‑friendly options, but all items are made in the same home kitchen, so I cannot guarantee an allergen‑free environment.

How should I store my baked goods and how long will they stay fresh?

Most cakes keep well covered in the fridge for 3–4 days; cookies and brownies are best stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Do you make custom designs or match inspiration photos?

I’m happy to use your photos as inspiration, but I do not copy other bakers’ work exactly; each design will be my own interpretation.
